The vineyard

The vineyard covers 4.6 hectares, was planted in 2021, and is already in production, with an estimated output of 20,000 bottles within three years. It was planted following the traditional layout and varietal composition of the old vineyards of Portalegre, a work of great technical rigor and deep knowledge of the sub-region. It is a dry-farmed vineyard, with no irrigation system whatsoever — a rarity and a true exclusivity in modern Alentejo, where few vineyards survive without irrigation. The roots delve deep into the rocky soil in search of water, production is naturally more restrained, and the grapes are intensely flavored and mineral-driven. From its inception, the vineyard has been managed under organic production methods, a condition that is increasingly decisive for success in the most demanding and competitive international markets. The property also has an already approved 600 m² winery project, as well as all vineyard, production, and wine marketing licenses fully in order.

The house

The property includes an Alentejo-style house, ready to move into, with renovation potential to achieve greater integration with the vineyard and the unique view over Alegrete Castle, a 13th-century monument classified as a National Monument since 1946. The house has two bedrooms, an office, an attic, and a renovated kitchen, as well as a climate-controlled cellar and a talha wine cellar with traditional amphorae. It also features a large tasting room, a full bathroom, a guest WC and an outdoor WC, a balcony, and an exterior storage room, and it is connected to the public sewer network, just like the future winery. The property is complemented by a spring-fed swimming pool/tank, an orchard, and an olive grove, elements that reinforce the estate’s authentic and self-sufficient character.
